Building a Better Future
Coachella Valley Youth Aviation Education Program empowers youth in the Southern California area to reach their fullest potential in aviation. We care about our youth, and provide them with the tools and education to help shape their essential character. Our Aviation Educational Workshops provide our Valley’s youth the chance to get involved in the aviation community and participate in new and exciting aeronautical experiences.
and Skills in Aeronautics
Making a difference one aspiring aviator at a time.
The CVYAEP is an exciting and visionary plan, organized by a local group of aviation enthusiasts and volunteers, to provide eligible local high school students an opportunity to learn to fly and enter into careers in aviation.
The CVYAEP offers scholarships for Private Pilot Airplane (PAR) flight and ground training courses that will help put the student on a fast track to an FAA PAR certificate or a career in aviation.
The CVYAEP is the gateway to general and commercial aviation -- an important first step to revitalize America's aviation industry.
Although the coronavirus pandemic has created an instant surplus of pilots worldwide, it’s also created big gaps in the training pipeline and that has some countries bracing for a pilot shortage in a few years. In Japan, airlines, the government and universities are facing what they see as a looming problem because most pilots for Japanese carriers are trained abroad and the borders are closed to the countries that do the training. Coupled with a major retirement bubble coming up in the next 10 years because of all the hiring done in the 1980s and the number of empty cockpit seats is worrying the industry, according to a report...” … more.
Mayday! Stop the Declining
With your help,
the Revitalization of the aviation industry
starts right here,
in the Coachella Valley, right now!
Boeing Aircraft: Extraordinary Demand for Pilots,
Technicians, and Cabin Crew
"As global economies expand and airlines take delivery of tens of thousands of new commercial jetliners over the next 20 years, there is extraordinary demand for people to fly and maintain these airplanes. To meet this tremendous growth, the 2016 Boeing Pilot and Technician Outlook forecasts that between now and 2035, the aviation industry will need to supply more than two million new aviation personnel—617,000 commercial airline pilots, 679,000 maintenance technicians, and 814,000 cabin crew.
Meeting this demand will require innovative solutions — focused on educational outreach and career pipeline programs — to inspire the next generation of pilots, technicians, and cabin crew. New technologies, devices, and training methods will be needed to meet a wide range of learning styles. The growing diversity of aviation personnel will also require instructors to have cross-cultural and cross-generational skills to engage tomorrow's workforce."

The Coachella Valley Youth Aviation Education Program (CVYAEP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization, initiated by Coachella Valley aviation enthusiasts in recognition of the need for new starts in aviation and their impact on general and commercial aviation.
Since its launch in 2012 more than 300 beginning flight students have benefited by the CVYAEP's plan. Some have continued their flights studies at ERAU, ASU, the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S Navy Aviation.
Through pilot community and volunteers, the CVYAEP offers aviation grants and scholarships that include FAA Part 61 flight and ground instruction, pilots supplies and handbooks, FAA medicals, student pilot certificates and seminars by FAA certificated professionals, all sharing the goal of encouraging and educating our Valley's youth into careers in aviation.
